Alison has a lot of experience with animals and loves them dearly. She cared for her dog Oden, and also developed a long and loving relationship caring for a parrot (macaw?) I would trust her with my aging dog Charlie.

One owner says Alison cared for her little guy “like he is her own,” spoiling him in all the same ways he gets spoiled at home. Decades of cat care, professional in-home dog training, and years volunteering at a dog rescue help Alison understand different temperaments and keep routines steady. She also learned the detailed care of a blue-and-gold macaw, reinforcing her patient, observant approach. Your dog’s morning can include a walk, breakfast, medication if needed, and time to play, cuddle, or be brushed, followed by a midday outing and fetch for exercise. A Rodrick owner says Alison kept them updated with photos and messages, and that Rodrick was “happy and well cared for.”

Alison H.'s Experience
I've loved and cared for animals for most of my life and truly enjoy spending time with them. I grew up with cats and had them continuously from the age of five through my mid-thirties, giving me decades of experience with their daily care, personalities, and unique behaviors. I've also owned a Chocolate Labrador Retriever, a Golden Retriever, and an Australian Shepherd, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I attended puppy preschool with each of my dogs and participated in extensive professional, in-home training, which gave me a strong understanding of positive reinforcement, basic obedience, and canine behavior. I've also lived with a Chihuahua and understand the unique needs of smaller breeds. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for birds, including budgies, lovebirds, and my blue-and-gold macaw. Caring for birds has taught me to be patient, attentive, and observant of their health, behavior, and daily routines. Over the years, I've walked dogs and pet sat for many friends, providing dependable, loving care while they were away. I also volunteered for many years at a friend's dog rescue, helping care for dogs from a variety of backgrounds, personalities, and energy levels. This experience strengthened my understanding of animal behavior and reinforced the importance of patience, consistency, and compassionate care. Whether it's feeding, walking, playtime, reinforcing good manners, administering routine medications, cleaning litter boxes, cleaning up after pets, or simply providing companionship, I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is to help every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while giving their owners complete peace of mind knowing they're in caring and reliable hands.

I also like to ask about any fears, anxieties, behavioral quirks, or commands they know so I can help them feel comfortable and keep their routine as consistent as possible. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands.

Alison was loving and responsible with her dog from a couple years ago and seemed to have great intuition and knowledge about his needs. She also lovingly took care of a large bird and learned all about his care during this time.
