The first time Samm met my cats was actually me cancelling plans, because in the middle of December, my new kitten somehow knocked the screen out of a third-story window and ended up at the top of a tree while I was at work. She came over instead, and we spent a few hours getting the kitten down. Samm got to know Jack and Faye as time went on, and I saw them interact many, many times in different situations. She intuitively understands what animals need if they're stressed or anxious (i.e. “my person is gone, who is the stranger?!”), and loves playing. She's also solid in uncertain or new situations. I grew up with Akitas, and have had cats for almost 10 years. People I would trust to look out for either of those are few and far between. Samm is one of them.
