Dev S.'s Experience

I know how hard and stressful it can be to find good and trustworthy people to pet-sit. I've had to do it before, especially for deployments with the military. I know what I look for in a pet-sitter/boarder and I hope to be someone who can provide other pet owners with peace of mind while they're away. I have experience transporting many different kinds of dogs to their fosters or adopters for several different rescues. I have volunteered at pet adoption events and fundraisers. Personally, I have had pets since I was a little kid and my knowledge has grown as I have grown. I have knowledge and experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, freshwater fish, small and medium birds (finch, cockatiel, conures, budgies), and hermit crabs. If you're out of town and need someone to tend your chickens- that's me! I have knowledge, but no hands on experience yet, with tortoises, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, frogs, hedgehogs (for NY clients as I live very close to the PA-NY border), ferrets, sugar gliders (again for NY clients), and larger bird species like macaws. I'm a fast learner and I'm always willing to learn about the care for any animal.

A typical day

I'm an online student and my schedule is flexible. My classes are asynchronous so I do classwork, homework, and exams on my schedule. I am home most days and weekends, unless I have drill for the Navy or a vacation scheduled. My husband and I have 13 chicks and an older flock of 16 chickens that we just moved outside, so I am also a Chicken Tender.
